Hello. I have been in the restaurant business since 1991. Started out in fast food at 16 years old, pizza shops, sub shops, burger shops. Started working as a waitress in 1994. I moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama in 1996. This is where the real love for food began. Waiting tables, I wanted to try the other side, the kitchen. I started working in the kitchen at Perdido Pass Restaurant in 2000 and Café Grazie 2002 in Orange Beach, Alabama. Here is where I was taught grill, Sautee', fry, prep, cooking skills, knife skills, all kinds of cool stuff. New ways to make food. I was able to play with food and figure out other flavors and cooking methods. I was in love. I'm a home cook, self taught. My mom and my grandmother growing up, I would always watch them and help them cook. My husband is also in the restaurant business. 63 years of restaurant knowledge of both combined, We always knew that one day we would own something of our own. Didn't know it would be ice cream. We taught ourselves how to make homemade rolled ice cream. Lots and lots of science, but we figured it out, and how cool it is. A skill I am super happy to have. We won 2021 Small Business award from Coastal Alabama Business Chamber. Local radio station Sunny 105.7 Peoples Choice Award for Best ice cream 2021 and 2022. We won 2023 for best Ice Cream Best of Baldwin Gulf Coast Media. When WFC came to Orange Beach, Alabama, I couldn't wait to see what it was all about. Watching them compete was it. I wanted to be a part of this. I watched for a couple years. I volunteered, became an E.A.T. judge and a SCA judge as well. WFC really got me into the food sport. I stared to compete for the golden ticket 3-4 years ago. All of our hard work throughout the years really paid off. The support of my husband, family and friends and the love of food got me to where I am today, here, a Golden Ticket to the World Food Championship. I am beyond thankful for this opportunity. I can't wait to get in that kitchen arena! Watch out Y'all, I'm bringing it this year!!!
