COMPETITION: World Rice and Noodle Championship
Chef Joel Harloff's career began in 1986 at a couple local and popular restaurants in the Milwaukee area. After graduating from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Chef Joel returned to Wisconsin to work at a few acclaimed restaurants such as the Immigrant Room at the American Club in Kohler and Osteria del Mundo in Milwaukee. After a move to Texas, Chef Joel's career began to really take off and the awards and accolades began to pile up including a couple trips to the James Beard House in NY. Chef Joel has taught at Le Cordon Bleu College where he shared his background in numerous cuisines which specializes in Spanish and Italian but coming up on 38 years in the industry, his repertoire of numerous cuisines has led to a colorful and successful career in Texas. When Chef Joel is not working, he enjoys fishing, hunting and the outdoors which has been a big part of his life since a very young age.
