“Project: Cook-off’ premieres on The Outdoor Cooking Channel, looks at 2014 WFC
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 16, 2015) – The 2015 World Food Championships is rapidly approaching, but for those new to the “ultimate food fight”, some of the characters, action and drama from 2014’s championship event are featured in a new web series on The Outdoor Cooking Channel (www.outdoorcookingchannel.com).

Titled “Project: Cook-off,” the eight-episode series follows teams competing last year in Las Vegas, which hosted the championship for its first three years. Each episode reveals the struggles, successes, miscues, mishaps and ultimately, the celebration of a champion in the largest food sport event in the world.

“We’re excited to premiere ‘Project: Cook-off’ on The Outdoor Cooking Channel,” said Kevin Bevington, Owner/Founder of TOCC. “The excitement and action of World Food Championships makes for great storytelling, and ‘Project: Cook-off’ fits so well with our mission of showcasing the best in both amateur and professional outdoor cooking.”

Burgers, sandwiches, bacon, seafood and barbecue – multiple World Food Championship categories are featured, along with characters like Shubee and Jaymi, the self-professed seafood experts; Jodi, the Bacon Babe; Wade, the hyper-focused burger technician; grilled cheese innovators The Gouda Girls; and many more.

“One of the best parts of presenting an event like World Food Championships is getting to know passionate competitive cooks from all over the globe,” said Mike McCloud, CEO/President of World Food Championships. “‘Project: Cook-off’ gives you a little taste of what it’s like to be immersed in the ultimate food fight, and we’re proud to partner with The Outdoor Cooking Channel to bring you that taste.”

New episodes of “Project: Cook-off” will debut on The Outdoor Cooking Channel’s website www.outdoorcookingchannel.com along with TOCC’s custom Roku channel (www.roku.com) leading up to the 2015 World Food Championships, which takes place in Celebration/Kissimmee, Florida, Nov. 2-10, 2015.
