COMPETITION: World Open Chili Championship
QUALIFYING EVENT: Just A Pinch category winner
By day, Debbie works in the Parks and Recreation Department at a local municipality. But nights and weekends you can find her in the kitchen or outside at the grill, creating and testing new recipes. She has always loved to cook, and a few years ago decided to enter her first competitive cooking contest and has been hooked ever since. Debbie won the USA Pears Perfect Pear contest and The Chew’s Ultimate Grillin’ contest. She has competed in cook-offs including the Beringer Great Steak Challenge, Aetna Healthy Food Fight and Tillamook Macaroni and Cheese contest. She has received prizes from many other sponsors, including Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Karo Corn Syrup, 7-Up, and Better Homes and Gardens. Her recipes have been published in cookbooks, magazines and on the internet. She is honored to be part of the World Food Championship and looks forward to the competition, as well as meeting up in person with so many cooking friends.
