COMPETITION: World Dessert Championship
Helen was bitten by the blue ribbon bug at the age of 9 after entering her prize-winning cookies in the county youth fair. She loves the excitement of competition and is still chasing (and winning) blue ribbons today, primarily at the State Fair of Texas. As a retired travel agency owner, she has traveled extensively and enjoys bringing home new tastes to her kitchen. She lives in Paradise with her husband, where their home (and kitchen) is often overrun with their four grandchildren. Always an inquisitive and competitive spirit, Helen fills her days with family, reading, creating recipes, entering cooking competitions and volunteering with a group that provides birthday parties for homeless children. As 5th place in Dessert Category at 2016 World Food Championships, she's excited to go again in her 4th time to WFC.
