HEAD COOK: Vita Jarrin

COMPETITION: World Recipe Championship

Although, I am now a Texas Girl, I was born and raised in Chicago, IL, I\'ve been a professional Chef for almost 10 years, with a culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu, but have been cooking, since I was 7. I realized early in childhood, being surrounded by so many wonderful cooks in my Sicilian family, that ingredients, food and it\'s preparation, would be an integral part of my foundation, that would forever be part of my world. \r\n\r\nI\'ve had the pleasure and pain of owning two restaurants, early on in my career, and lost both to two very different reasons. Most would call it failures, I call them successes. They too have given me the experience and understanding, of what this industry is about and what it takes to appreciate this industry as a Chef as well as a guest. It\'s truly a humbling experience.\r\n\r\nI\'ve only recently started competing in food contests, and this is my 3rd time competing in the World Food Championships,\r\nThe first year, was 2013, I was a sous chef in recipe and was proud to assist Beth Peterson in her win, in the top 10. \r\nLast year, 2014, I was chosen as the Kenmore Cookmore 1st place winner in pasta and therefore, competed in the Pasta Category, and this year, I was recently informed that my Santorini Burger, won Kenmore Cookmore 1st place in the Burger Category! Hoping the 3rd time\'s a charm ;0)
