COMPETITION: World Dessert Championship
I am a nurse from Billings MT that likes to bake. I competed at the World Food Championships last year and took 12th place overall under my husband BBQ team name "Smokin Jerks". This year I won 1st place in the Taste of America Challenge for the state of Montana. My husband has been competing in BBQ competitions for many years and I compete in the "other" category by submitting a desert as part of his team. I usually enter a cupcake of some type. In 2017 I took 1st place at the Montana BBQ Cook-off, with my desert (with a perfect/perfect score of 180). This will be our second year competing at the World Food Championships! We have judged at three World Food Championships over the past 6 years (we missed going in 2016). We enjoy watching the teams cook...especially the desert and BBQ categories. I like watching the teams create beautiful deserts. I took Wilton cake decorating classes at Michael's Store over 15 years ago. I have been baking cakes, cupcakes, and cookies for friends, family and co-workers since then. My husband and I are certified KCBS BBQ judges and will take EAT judging class this year at the WFC. My husband (William) and our daughter (Malea) will be cooking with me this year. We are looking forward to competing again this year.
