QUALIFYING EVENT: World Dessert Championship
My learning came from talking to people at local fair competitions. I took an adult evening class on bread baking and my instructor was the head of a bread contest locally. She encouraged us to enter that competition, and from there I started entering the local fair. Once you win a ribbon it becomes contagious and you want to see how much better you can do. I can remember saying "how does anyone ever create a recipe?". Now that's all I just about do. I rarely can take a recipe that someone gives me and leave it alone. I try to better everything I make. My goal is to find and make the best of the best. I can honestly say that everyone I bring my cookies to say these are the best cookies I have ever tasted!
