Olathe man's carrot cake takes $50,000 prize

Beth Peterson says starting a fire last weekend during the World Food Championships in Las Vegas was one of the more stressful moments of the competition. Awards Season

AWARDS SEASON   Alchemy's Ricardo Heredia is the new king of bacon. The chef, along with San Diego's SuperNatural Sandwiches, competed in last weekend's World Food Championships in La Vegas. The sandwich guys placed 15th in their category, but Heredia took the top spot in the Bacon World Championship, which came with a $10,000 prize.

Lansdale Man Earns Top Honor At World Food Championships In Las Vegas

By Brad Segall WARMINSTER, Pa. (CBS) — A Montgomery County man who has been cookingcompetitively since 2007 can now claim he has the best pork ribs in the world. Bob Trudnak spends his days as marketing manager for Warminster-based BBQ Guru, which manufactures the oven he uses to make his now “World’s-Best Ribs.” The 43-year-old Lansdale man picked up the title at the World Food Championships in Las Vegas.
