Challenge Dairy “Bake Your Way to the Beach” Winners Announced!
ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (September 16, 2016) – The Challenge Dairy “Bake Your Way to the Beach” Online Recipe Contest brought in some of the sweetest recipes yet! We thank our friends at Challenge Dairy for partnering with us for this contest. After looking through dozens of entries, the judges tallied up and scored the best dessert recipes. Although all of the recipes looked delicious, the judges had to come to a tough conclusion between the entries.
Sharon Sorensen’s “Spiced Spumoni Fregolotta with Peppered Ganache Drizzle” brought her to first place! The winning recipe featured a buttery, pistachio laden Italian shortbread, creamy cherry layer, chocolate ganache, golden meringue, and a spicy drizzle! Yum! For her winning dish, Sharon scored a registration-paid Golden Ticket slot in the Dessert Category at the 2016 World Food Championships in Orange Beach, Alabama this November, plus a $500 travel stipend.
Meanwhile, these four entries earned their creators Golden Ticket invitations to compete:
Second Place: “Caramelized Banana Walnut Cheesecake,” by Michele Kusma.
Third Place: “Pear Truffle Crumble,” by Roz Keimig.
Fourth Place: “Cream Cheese Brownie Mini Tarts with Strawberry Whipped Cream,” by Rochelle Vincent.
Fifth Place: “Coo-Chee-Bundtkin,” by KC Quaretti.
