GSOBT Food Champ Online Recipe Contest Winners Announced!
The Gulf Shores Orange Beach Tourism “Cook Your Way to the Beach” Online Recipe Contest brought in some of the most unique recipes yet! We thank our friends at GSOBT for partnering with us for this contest.
After looking through multiple entries, the judges deliberated and scored the recipe submissions. Although all of the recipes looked delicious, the judges had to come to a tough conclusion between the Alabama Residents. Brody Olive’s “Grilled Jolt Head Porgy” brought him to first place! The winning recipe featured a Black Truffle Cheese Grit Crisp, Brown Butter Corn, Garlic Haricot Vert, Smoked Bacon Snow, and Roasted Heirloom Tomato Coulis. Yum! For his winning entry, Brody nabs a registration-paid Golden Ticket slot in the Seafood Category at the 2016 World Food Championships in Orange Beach, Alabama this November, plus a $500 travel stipend.
Meanwhile, these two entries earned their creators Golden Ticket invitations to compete:
Second Place: “Plash Island Pot Pie,” by Robert Entrekin.
Third Place: “Royal Red Shrimp Boil Pot Pie,” by Bill Howard.
