WORLD FOOD CHAMPIONSHIPS NAMES GUNTER WILHELM® OFFICIAL CUTLERY

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (May 3, 2016) – Food Sport competition takes more than great commitment and great recipes. It also requires great tools to help talented cooks bring their creations to life.

World Food Championships is proud to announce an expanded relationship with Gunter Wilhelm bring one of those key tools to the table. After several years of performance and testing at the Ultimate Food Fight, Gunter Wilhelm has been named the Official Cutlery of WFC as the event enters its 5th Anniversary this November at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama.

Gunter Wilhelm has long been the cutlery brand of choice for many WFC competitors, and the enhanced relationship marks an expansion of the cutlery company’s presence within not only the competition, but also the prize package awarded to the event’s winners. Each of the category World Champions – emerging from the Bacon, Barbecue, Burger, Chili, Dessert, Recipe, Seafood, Steak and Sandwich competitions – will receive a special gift-set of Gunter Wilhelm knives.

The overall World Food Champion – the competitor who emerges from the The Final Table challenge on Nov. 15  – will also receive a full set of Gunter Wilhelm knives and tools valued at more than $1,500.

The World Food Championships LIGHTNING ProCut collection, like the rest of Gunter Wilhelm’s cutlery products, are crafted from premium High Carbon X50CRMoV15 German steel. The 16-piece line features a wide variety of sizes of chef, carving, slicer, filet and utility knives.
