Sam’s Club Renews As Presenting Sponsor of BBQ Category at 4th Annual World Food Championships
The World Food Championships announced today that Sam's Club® has renewed its official supplier and presenting sponsor status of the World Barbecue Championship, one of nine featured categories at this year's event, which will occur Nov. 3 – 10 in Kissimmee, Fla.
Boasting a prize purse of more than $300,000, the 4th Annual World Food Championships will once again use a tournament format and custom judging process to whittle more than 500 contestants down to nine category winners, who will then face off at a Final Table in front of a discerning panel of food celebrities and experts.
"We're excited to have the world's most recognized membership club associated with our event," said Mike McCloud, CEO of World Food Championships. "Sam's Club has a strong relationship with barbecue competitions and the barbecue community throughout America, and their involvement in The World Food Championships is one more step in recognizing food sport as a true culinary art form.”
As the title sponsor in barbecue, Sam’s Club will be awarding more than $30,000 in total category prize money to the best culinary amateurs and pros competing in the World Barbeque Championship, which will occur at West Gate Town Center Resort. Additionally, baby back ribs from Sam’s Club will be featured in the Tasting Village, which will be located in the heart of the competition at Celebration.
The nine categories for the 2015 WFC include bbq, chili, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, dessert, seafood, bacon and recipe (with a “fresh” focus). For more information about events, opportunities or competitions at The World Food Championships, visit worldfoodchampionships.com.
